Payment Options

I accept Paypal to the account: erica@crownjewelreptiles.com. Paypal enables the secure use of credit or debit cards. Please be sure that your paypal address matches the shipping address for your animal so no one gets lost in the mail. I also accept postal money orders which are best sent USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. Personal checks, non-postal money orders, and cashiers checks must clear before I ship.

Holds

A gecko can be put on hold for a non-refundable 20% deposit.

The full balance for the animal including shipping if applicable is due within one week after the hold has been placed. If payment is not received within this time frame the deposit will be converted to a store credit and the animal will go back up for sale. Such a store credit can be put towards a purchase but not a new deposit.

Payment plans are negotiated at my discretion and will require a standard deposit.

Shipping

Shipping is a flat $45 for any size insulated box for any number of animals. There is no extra charge for heat or cold packs.

Shipping of live animals is available to the continental United States. Live animals are shipped overnight guaranteed to arrive before 10:30am by the shipping company although delays may still occur which are beyond my control. Shipping is done Monday through Wednesday so that potential delays will are less likely to run into the weekend. An adult must be present to sign for the package on the first delivery attempt otherwise the live arrival guarantee will be void. I ship in insulated boxes with heat or cold packs as required; however, temperatures must still be within a safe range for the animal. For the Rhacodactylus genus (crested geckos, gargoyle geckos etc.) nighttime lows must be above 40 degrees F and daytime highs must be under 85 degrees F. I am happy to care for a purchased animal as long as necessary until weather is deemed suitable for shipping.

I can also ship USPS overnight express if you are able to pick the animal up in the morning at the post office. Delivery to the home by USPS is guaranteed by the carrier before noon rather than 10:30am, so there are further temperature restrictions if you choose USPS home delivery. Temps must be between 65 and 80 degrees for Racodactylus. This shipping option is a flat $30 per any size order.

Delivery

I am usually able to deliver animals to the Taylor Reptile Show held monthly in Michigan. Meet ups with locals are considered on a case by case basis.

Guarantees

Live arrival

Animals are guaranteed to arrive healthy and exactly as described. If there is a problem I need to be notified by phone or email within four hours of the animal's arrival. If an animal is dead on arrival proof is required before a store credit or replacement animal is given.

Geckos will sometimes drop their tails due to stress and it does not effect the health or breeding ability of the gecko, therefore no compensation will be offered in the case of a lost tail.

Sexing

Any animal described as simply "male" or "female" is guaranteed to be sexed properly. A "probable male" classification indicates that after louping the gecko I have seen what appear to be pre-anal pores. A "probable female" label indicates that no pre-anal pores are yet visible on an animal over 8 grams—the size at which pores on a male are typically visible under magnification. Sex is not guaranteed for "probable" males or females because louping is not 100% accurate. If the animal is discovered to be the wrong sex within 6 months of receipt (clear photograph verification needed) a suitable replacement animal (if available) or store credit will be issued. The shipping cost of the replacement will also be my responsibility.

Virginity

Females sold as virgins are guaranteed to be chaste. They are never placed with males or potential males for any length of time for any reason. This ensures that you can be confident of paternity if and when you decide to pair your female with a male of your choosing. Note that a virgin female may lay eggs before being paired with a male but these eggs will not be fertile.

Proven

Animals described as "proven" have incontrovertibly produced offspring in the past.

Color

I will do my best to provide the most accurate and up to date representation of an animal. But it is nearly impossible to guarantee color for a variety of reasons. Colors can look very different from one monitor to another. Also, an animal's color can change depending on stress, mood, and as it matures.

Photos are never "touched-up" to make an animal look better than it is in reality.
